Favourite Melee Weapon

When playing fantasty games or games set before our time, what is your favourite sort of weapon/fighting style to use?

Mine's gotta be dual swords... though it's a shame not many games offer it.

i'd have to go for a Battleaxe or a good old Warhammer, to crush the skulls of my enemies

When i play fantasy/medieval games i tend to stick around the bigger heavier sort of weapons like a War hammer or a nice shiny battleaxe to cut through to necks of those stupid enough to oppose me. But occasionally i'll get a little tactical and head over to the sword and shield department and take on my enemies one on one instead of my usual 'all out' attack style. In times where a war hammer or sword can't be seen lying around i'll do what we all do.... Run in the opposite direction

A nice sword and shield usually does the trick, because it's nice to mix up defense while cleaving demons and bandits in half However, I think more games should start to use the shield as a more of a offense tool as well. Dragon Age: Origins began to do this with the various shield blows, and I think others should follow the example in new and interesting ways

Id go with the one handed sword and just one if i had two (being me) i would be to lazy to use em both so i would just use one small fast and easy to kill with
