Right or Left?

I'm sure that this topic might spark many arguments between people of differing views on this topic, and I've got nothing against that as long as we keep it clean and smart. No calling each other offensive names like a bunch of babies. Although we don't encourage using bad language, we od use it ourselves and we won't ban you from doing the same... just try not to direct it at other people, please.

I myself am probably almost all on the left, even though I have some mixed opinions. I'm sort of a patriot, but I hate nationalists. I'm not a Stalinist, but I hate fascists etc. You get what I mean? So it's definitely the left for me.

In my opinion, if we have to have any sort of government or system, Communism would be the best for the whole world. It would mean that people finally got everything of equal amounts to everyone else. There would be no rich capitalists or crazy nazis. The system would encourage unity and love of a nation, but not hate for other nations. But there's one problem that will always remain and Communism will never work in any system... human nature.

The masses are greedy pigs, every single one of 'em. If you told them that they must get less so others can get the same amount, they wouldn't agree to it. Besides, unfortunately Communism is an easy system to grab and choke for your own personal gain. That's why it will never work. And before all of you misnformed people out there start to jump at my throat - let me tell you that the Soviet Union wasn't Communist. Neither is China or North Korea. Those are all perfect examples of what happens when Communism fails and people start to make their own tyranical rules. For example, the Soviet Uinion was Stalinist and NOT Communist.

Anyway, so what's your ideal governemnt/system type?

i don't believe in anything, and if my view is right or left then my bad. But i believe in equality and kindness, everyone should be equal and is equal, and no one should have to fear for anything at anytime in their life because everyone, including people you've never met should be there for you. So yeah, my opinion is equality, kindness and helpfulness

Well, to me, that sounds like you're a lefty as well. There's one easy way to find out if you're a right wing nut or a lefty scum. Do you feel that people should be more controlled, that "obscene" content should be censored, have any capitalist views, strongly believe in what the government of your country is doing and love your nation? If so, you are on the right wing.

On the other hand, do you have any socialist views, believe in equality, detest the feeling of nationality and being from a country, believe that people should have more freedom and there should be less cameras, restrictions and control over the population in general? If so, then you are on the left wing.

To be honest, neither is really good or bad. It's not as simple as good and evil. Basically, at the very end of the right wing are nationalism and order. At the very end of the left wing are freedom and anarchy. Hitler was far-right, but that doesn't mean that if you're right wing you have to be like Hitler. Get it? The existence of a government in itself is right wing, because people rule over others because they want order and control.

It's a bit complicated, but you will learn in time. Just make sure you don't always believe what you hear on the news, see on posters and in general, what any sort of government tells you. Whether it's right or left, all sorts of ruling classes will twist facts and feed lies to the masses, just so they can stay in power.

Since I can't properly explain left-right politics to you, I suggest you check out the thread on our Off-Topic Discussion forum, entitled "The Political Compass". There you can take a short test and find out whether you are right, left, authoritarian or libertarian. Hope this helps.

Again though, i just believe that everyone should be free to make their own choices and the only thing that changes and makes your opinion of someone should be how they act to you and those around you

Wow, I can't believe that just a year ago I was naive enough to believe that true Communism was a fairy tale. xD
